Fighting xenophobia and racism within the animal movements.

For a while now, xenophobia and racism have been trivialized, and we observe more and more its presence within demonstrations in favor of non-human animals. From notorious people to Brigitte Bardot’s foundation’s campaigns, an islamophobic and fascist speech is spreading more and more

When we react against this rising of the extreme right in the movements for animals, we are opposed a violent reaction from the activists. We are accused to divide the movement, to discriminate fascists, to give a bad image of the movement; some accuses us to want to polities the movement…

But their is not just one animal movement, there are many movements, groups and strategies. They are all political, in the sens that they claim political demands, for the animals. It is not the antispecisists (and therefor antifascists) that divide the movement, but clearly the discriminatory, xenophobic, sexist or racist speeches.

As antispecicits, we think that no one can hold such a discourse and claim to be antispecisiste, or for the animal liberation.

It becomes important to make it clear to all what is specisme and antispecisisme, as we see it. People need to understand that the movement for animal liberation, antispecisisme, egalitarist, or wellferist are truly political, and therefor have to make a stand on such important political struggles as against racism, fascism, sexism, homophobia…

We have kept some time and space to specialy talk about these topics, to find solutions against the rising of the extreme right especialy in the animal movements..
